Position: Commercial Advisor in Energy and Environment

The Danish Embassy in Buenos Aires is seeking a dynamic and result-driven commercial advisor to assist Danish Energy and Environment companies in Argentina as well as in other Latin American markets.

About the Job

The Trade Department of the Embassy provides advisory services to Danish companies. Your primary focus will be the Energy and Environment sector; however, you are expected to show flexibility regarding tasks outside of the sector when required. You will become part of a busy team promoting Danish commercial interests in Argentina as well as in other Latin American markets through our close cooperation with the other Danish embassies in the region.

Main Tasks and Responsibilities as Commercial Advisor

  • Identifying concrete business opportunities for Danish companies in Argentina, drawing upon your knowledge and network within the Argentine and Danish Energy and Environment sector
  • In coordination with your colleagues in the Latin American Energy and Environment team, identify and engage in dialogue with the Danish companies in the sector, helping them understand the business opportunities in Argentina and other Latin American markets
  • Prepare market entries for Danish companies and break down entry barriers by e.g. assisting the companies in their contact with public authorities
  • Conduct stakeholder management with the Argentine authorities and private organizations
  • Arrange and participate in sales and partner visits in Argentina and the region on behalf of Danish companies from the Energy and Environment sector, developing market opportunities in Latin America
  • Contribute to social media platforms in relation to commercial activities


  • Relevant university degree preferably with a specialization in energy and environment or in business
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience in the Energy and Environment sector (e.g. from working with energy efficiency, clean technologies or sustainable energy). Work experience in Argentina combined with regional knowledge is an advantage
  • An extendednetwork within the Energy and Environment sector and a strong understanding of the dynamics in the sector
  • Solid experience within sales, purchase and/or consultancy
  • Strong proficiency in English and Spanish, both spoken and written, is a must.
  • Energetic, focused and motivated by acquiring new knowledge
  • An empathetic team player, eager to share and learn from colleagues, and prepared to travel up to 2-3 times per year internationally and 2-4 times locally
