The Polish and Danish Prime Ministers meet in Copenhagen on 9th June

The Prime Minister of the Republic of Poland, Ms Beata Szydło, and the Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Denmark, Mr Lars Løkke Rasmussen, met on 9 June in Copenhagen to discuss among other topics trade, the future of the EU, NATO and energy cooperation. As EU partners, NATO allies, and neighbours, Denmark and Poland share many common interests and challenges. On energy, the two Prime Ministers signed a Memorandum of Understanding on the cooperation on gas infrastructure for provision of direct supplies of the natural gas from the Norwegian Continental Shelf to the Kingdom of Denmark and the Republic of Poland, the so-called “Baltic Pipe” (read more). With regard to the the security situation in the Baltic region, both Denmark and Poland are contributing to NATO’s enhanced forward presence as part of a robust answer to threats in the region (read more).
