Vacancy as Part-Time Student Assistant

Right now, we are looking for an analytical and skilled student assistant to join the Trade Council of Denmark at the Royal Danish Embassy in Singapore. The position is 15 – 20 hours weekly.

Who are we
The Trade Council is a part of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Denmark. We help small and medium-sized Danish enterprises foster innovation, build partnerships and expand their business activities within Singapore and Southeast Asia. Our strength lies in providing business insights and local knowledge to Danish companies. We offer strategic advice for businesses to make the right decisions.
 
Practically, we are organised in industry teams to help Danish companies within selected sectors where we see the most prominent export opportunities and partnership prospects. In Singapore, our priorities revolve around food, maritime, health, technology, energy, environment and water.

Personal Characteristics
You should possess an independent drive along with a positive, proactive attitude when engaging in new tasks. You should have strong analytical skills, while possessing curiosity and creativity. You should be open, credible and observant and be able to manage relations with a broad range of colleagues and stakeholders. We expect you to be familiar with the Singaporean economy and business environment.

Your Duties

  • Compile desk and market research to support the work of the Trade Advisors. Tasks include finding data and relevant contacts.
  • Collect sector relevant data, which can contribute towards making market access reports.
  • Prepare write-ups and make PowerPoint presentations.
  • Organise and prepare for webinars.
  • Enter contact information into contact management systems.
  • Provide support to social media efforts.
  • Monitor social media for trending topics to utilize on social media channels.
  • Maintain tracking report of public relations activity.
  • Assistance and support on an ad-hoc basis.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Be an undergraduate student in International Business, Sales and/or Marketing or equivalent.
  • Have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Possess extensive knowledge of social media.
  • Be driven and hard working.
  • Have the ability to take direction and multi-task.
  • Be well versed in MS Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).

Expected Start
15 April 2021 or as soon as possible after this date. The employment requires a security clearance by the Danish authorities.
