Nordic Christmas @ Gardens by the Bay

Every year the Nordic Embassies take part in the Poinsettia Wishes Display in Gardens by the Bay. Last year’s edition was inspired by confectionary from the Nordic countries with an 8-meter-tall cupcake ferris wheel and other larger-than-life-treats. Join us for another festive season in November and December 2022!

Nordic Film Festival @ The Projector. 

In line with the last couple of years, the Nordic embassies in Singapore have come together to host the Nordic Film Festival in Singapore. With a variety of films covering almost every genre and corner of the region, this was an event where you could experience the spirit of the High North. The opening screening took place on 11 August 2022 where the Danish movie "A Taste of Hunger" was screened. 

European Film Festival @ The Projector. Screening of Danish contribution: 24 May

The European Film Festival is an annual event that showcases a selection of European films, giving the audience in Singapore a taste of Europe’s diversity and creativity. The films showcased at this festival may belong to a specific country, but they are all representative of Europe’s common cultural heritage. This year, Denmark screened "Erna at War". EU at your school

The 'EU at Your School' project is where students aged 13 to 20 will learn more about EU and its relations with Singapore. The project, which runs from 31 March to 28 May 2021, builds on positive feedback from the inaugural edition in 2019. Ambassadors and diplomats from the EU and its member states based in Singapore will visit education institutions to give talks about the EU, where the overarching theme this year is sustainability. The embassy visited the bright students of Tampines Meridian Junior Colleges on 27 April.

Singapore International Energy Week (SIEW)

Singapore International Energy Week is an annual week-long energy conference for interested parties.

The week comprises a number of exhibitions, workshops and networking sessions focused on key issues within the energy industry.

The conference in 2022 will be held 25-28 October, and will include a Nordic Green event, highlighting the many sustainable energy solutions provided by Nordic companies.

Green Denmark in Southeast Asia @community platform

Green Denmark in Southeast Asia is an initiative managed by the Trade Council of Denmark in Southeast Asia. As an open community of thought leaders and Danish companies, the community aims to accelerate sustainable development and green collaboration between Southeast Asia and Denmark. Nordic Maritime & Singapore Maritime Week

The Nordic Embassies, Trade Promotion Offices, and Nordic Innovation House in Singapore will be cooperating to brand Nordic Solutions within Sustainable Ocean Economy in Singapore and Southeast Asia.

The joint Nordic conference on 4 April during Singapore Maritime Week 2022 aimed to promote Nordic ambitions and strongholds within Sustainable Ocean Economy – focusing on the Nordic sustainable shipping and port operations, OceanTech, green maritime innovations, and show how they support businesses, research, and academic cooperation with Singapore and the Southeast Asian region. The Nordic conference was held in conjunction and co-located with the annual Singapore Maritime Week organised by the Maritime & Port Authority (MPA) of Singapore.

Nordic Embassies & Trade Promotion Office organisers include Embassy of Denmark in Singapore, Embassy of Finland in Singapore, Business Iceland, Norwegian Embassy in Singapore, Embassy of Sweden, Singapore, Business Sweden Asia-Pacific, and Innovation Norway. 

Infrastructure Asia Roundtable

The Asia Infrastructure Forum (AIF) is a foremost platform for infrastructure players and thought leaders to discuss key issues such as the future state of infrastructure, sustainable financing, technological innovation and collaboration.

AIF 2022 was held in Singapore from 2 – 3 August 2022. As part of the forum, specially curated ideation roundtables covering four themes across sustainable infrastructure will be organised.

Regional government officials, development finance institutions, private sector organisations, institutes of higher learning, and the media attended the ideation roundtables.

The Danish Embassy in Singapore partnered with Infrastructure Asia on a roundtable discussion on sustainable water and waste management on 2 August 2022.

Tech & FinTech

Singapore Fintech Festival

Organised by the Monetary Authority of Singapore in partnership with The Association of Banks in Singapore and in collaboration with Constellar Exhibitions, the Singapore FinTech Festival (SFF) is the world’s largest FinTech festival and global platform for the FinTech community foster an open dialogue between the public and private sectors to advance FinTech in the digital economy.

The festival brings people from all around the world for the development of financial services, public policy and technology. The festival starts 7 November 2022.
