The Royal Danish Embassy is recruiting a pro-active Visa Officer with a strong sense of accuracy and attention to detail, and with a positive mindset.
You will be working in a team of highly dedicated and professional colleagues. The main tasks of the Visa & Consular Section are handling of Schengen visa applications and residence permit applications, as well as providing consular assistance to Danish nationals and nationals with residence permit in Denmark.
As a Visa Officer, you will mainly be supporting the Embassy’s Visa Section and ensuring the smooth operation of visa related tasks and processes. The work involves handling and prioritizing many different visa cases on a daily basis, keeping up to date with key legislation, and sparring with colleagues.
You are expected to show the flexibility required for an optimal handling of the entire portfolio of the Embassy and be ready to contribute to handling tasks outside your own portfolio.
Main Tasks and Responsibilities
- Receive applications from the Visa Application Centre
- Examination of Schengen visa and residence/work permit applications, incl. required documentation, and interviewing of applicants
- Registering of applications in relevant IT systems
- Written correspondence with applicants and hosts, and other members of the public
- Attending phone calls and written correspondences with applicants and other relevant entities
- Contact to the Danish Immigration Service and other relevant stakeholders/authorities
- Contribute to the day-to-day operation of the Visa and Consular Section
Expected Competencies
- Diploma or bachelor’s degree in any discipline
- 2-3 years of customer service-related job roles, preferably in the area of public administration
- Experience with visa processing is an advantage but not a requirement
- Excellent command of written and spoken English
- An analytical mind, strong organisational, communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently as well as a team player
- Excellent service-minded approach towards Embassy clients
- Ability to work under pressure
- Display sensitivity and adaptability to culture, gender, religion, race, nationality and age
- Excellent IT skills at user level
Employment Conditions
- Full-time employment contract position for one (1) year (with possibility for extension) based on the relevant legally binding labour market rules of Singapore. The position is subject to a three (3) months initial probation period
- Working hours are 40 hours per week
- 13th month salary
- Salary commensurate with relevant work experience, expert knowledge and skills
