Maritime

Singapore is a vibrant International Maritime Centre with more than 5,000 maritime-related establishments and 170,000 employees. Strategically located along major shipping trade routes, maritime has always been a key driver for Singapore’s economy contributing approximately seven per cent of the country’s GDP.

Home to one of the highest concentrations of international shipping groups and global maritime service providers, Singapore is an established maritime hub and continues to be an attractive location in Asia. In line with the government’s ambitious climate goals, there is great focus to decarbonise the sector with investments in digitalisation, electrification, and alternative marine fuels.

As the Singapore Maritime Cluster grows and transforms, the demand for maritime services will continue to increase.
